Getting Around University City from Lumeo

Whether the destination is campus, work, or dinner out, most of University City is a short trip from the property's front door.

Light Rail Access and the Commute to UNC Charlotte

The University City Blvd station on the Lynx Blue Line sits about 0.3 miles from Lumeo, putting the light rail within easy walking distance. From there, UNC Charlotte is roughly 2.6 miles away by car, about a six-minute drive without a light rail transfer. The same line continues south toward Uptown, giving residents a car-free option for commuting or a night out. For those who do drive, University City Boulevard and Interstate 85 both run through the surrounding area.

Nearby Employers and the Preferred Employer Program

Lumeo's Preferred Employer Program waives application and administrative fees for renters connected to employers such as Atrium Health, Bank of America, Duke Energy, the Carolina Panthers, and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Wells Fargo also qualifies, with its Customer Information Center campus located in the University area just a few miles from the community. UNC Charlotte and CMPD round out the list, alongside Spectrum, which staffs a large call center workforce in the area despite being headquartered outside the state. Renters can contact the leasing office to confirm whether their employer qualifies.

Shopping, Dining, and Entertainment Nearby

University City's retail corridor places IKEA, World Market, and Target within a few miles of the property, as well as grocery stores such as Harris Teeter and Walmart. Topgolf Charlotte - University anchors the entertainment district taking shape nearby, and the Shoppes at University Place add casual dining options such as CAVA and Blaze Pizza. Starbucks and Dunkin' both sit close enough for a quick coffee run before catching the light rail. Together, these stops keep daily errands and evening plans within a short drive or a light rail ride.
